IHRA Junior Dragster Profile: Lucas Graves

Friday, 19 April 2024

HOUSE SPRINGS, MO — The International Hot Rod Association continues to celebrate the future of drag racing by you know about the great Junior Dragster racers across North America.

So many great Juniors come from the Lone Star State. Such is the case Lucas Graves, a 15-year-old from Burleson, Texas, who has been drag racing over half his life. He first started racing when he was seven, and now drives a 2009 Motivational Junior at Xtreme Raceway Park.

Graves, who captured a huge Gamblers win at Xtreme last November, calls “Big” Ty Janousek his racing hero. Cutting fast cars is what he likes most about the sport. It’s no surprise that this Texan’s favorite sport besides racing is football. He has plans beyond his time in the Junior Dragsters with a 1971 Chevrolet Nova he plans on competing in.
