The Easter Bash features a Friday test-and-tune along with $1,000-to-win Gamblers races for the Top and Footbrake classes.
Action really ramps up Saturday with the Classic Gear Jammers. There’s also an IHRA Ironman Classic. This special race pays $4,000 to win and $800 for the runner-up in the Top and Footbrake classes. There are also races for Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragsters as drivers in all bracket classes compete for the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies.
Like the famous infomercials, “Wait there’s more,” as Saturday and Sunday counts as the first two IHRA Summit SuperSeries points races of the season.
Sunday features the 4.70 Outlaws with an $11,000 total payout to go along with the great bracket racing. Gates open at 9 a.m. with Easter activities at 10 a.m. and racing to start at 12:30 p.m.
Top and Footbrake racers can enter Saturday and Sunday for $70 per day or $150 for the whole 3-day weekend. It’s $50 entry per day for Sportsman, Motorcycle and Juniors. Spectators are $20 per day or $50 for the 3-day weekend.
This is just the first of multiple big events throughout the anniversary season. There are High Winding Gear Jammer races, Big Tire, Small Tire events and big-money bracket races.
Roxboro Motorsports Park even has a Junior Dragster Ironman Classic from June 21-23 with $5,000-to-win and $1,000 for the runner-up during Saturday’s main event.
The track participated in the IHRA Division 1 (Patriots) Summit Team Finals in 2023. Sportsman champion Glenda Cochran headlined the racers who qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering through the track points. Other champions included: Mike Keyton (No Box) and Kayla Moorefield (Junior Dragster).
Another way the track and its staff stand out is racing for a cause. Over the past couple of years, Roxboro Motorsports Park has brought awareness to breast cancer and autism. This year, the track is highlighting mental health issues.
It’s another way the track serves as much more than a racing facility, also a valued member of the community.
