With the biggest turnout of racers this season, both drivers pocketed $5,000 by winning their respective classes during Moser Engineering Saturday. Hagar, who also won the Scrubblade golf cart race, was the Mod division winner and Hemerline topped the Top division. Runner-up drivers in each division won $1,000.

In the Mod final, Hagar from Clark Lake, Mich., posted a winning run of 6.415 seconds at 107.14 mph against a 6.42 dial-in with a .067 reaction time. Runner-up Justin Rose from Taylor, Mich., red-lighted by just .003 before going down the track in 6.210 seconds at 111.19 mph.

Hemerline from Unionville, Mich., was quicker on the tree to win the Top Final over Rick Schneider from Westland, Mich. Hemerline’s package included a .023 reaction time paired with a 5.861-second run at 115.86 mph against a 5.84 dial-in. Schneider was .052 at the start before running a 4.922 at 135.38 mph against a 4.91 dial-in.

Hemerline also won a special helmet featuring a unique design by Jerron Settles of Imagine That Customs.

This event also featured the Street division for cars 12 seconds and slower with Ron Hagar of Clark Lake, Mich., getting the best of his son Donnie Hagar in the final. Ron Hagar won the $500 race with a 8.691-second pass at 78.95 mph and a .018 reaction time. Donnie Hagar added $250 to his earnings with a run of 8.931 seconds at 75.06 mph and a .024 reaction time.

The Junior Dragsters were split into three classes with Alex Kish from Kalamazoo, Mich., Even Muchler from Grass Lake, Mich., and Jordin Heiman from Niles, Mich., race winners.

Kish was closer to his dial-in than runner-up Samuel Peterson from Richland, Mich., in the Masters 12-17 final. Kish went 8.104 at 77.60 mph against an 8.08 dial-in with a .042 reaction time. Peterson had the better start at .023, but finished with a run of 8.051 seconds at 75.78 mph against a 7.92 dial-in.

Muchler was the Advanced 9-12 winner with a .018 reaction time. He matched that with a 9.115 elapsed time at 67.47 mph against a 9.04 dial-in. Kassie Wanamaker from Martin, Mich. finished in 9.022 seconds at 71.80 mph against an 8.98 dial-in, along with a .080 reaction time.

Heiman won the Beginner 7-9 race when final-round opponent Aliyah Pitsch from Dorr, Mich., fouled. Heiman’s final numbers were 11.978 seconds at 53.44 mph and a .038 reaction time. Pitsch made a run down the track in 12.103 seconds at 54.14 mph.
